We can’t say thank you enough to all the fine folks that attended shows at Slowdown, you are doing your part to make sure amazing musicians have fond memories of Omaha, and want to return to this town.

I leave you with a photo of the amazing Alexandra. She was hanging from our ceiling during the first song of Devotchka’s encore. I can’t believe she wasn’t strapped in, a long red fabric sheet is all that held her high in the air, oh and magic.

Consider this post one stop shopping for all the information you may need on the new policies concerning all ages shows in Omaha! Please pass this along to all of your friends.

The new city ordinance for those under 21 to be admitted to shows at Slowdown goes into effect this week.

The biggest change is that those under 18 must have a notarized permission slip from their parent or legal guardian. Slowdown does not have a notary on staff, but will have a open house with a notary present this Saturday, May 3 from 2pm-5pm. We encourage parents with children 17 and under to come down and check out Slowdown and get their permission slip on file.

A full list of changes to the city ordinance can be found on the Omaha City Clerk’s website. Links to that and the consent forms are below.

-

The updated city ordinance for music venues goes into effect on April 30. The following policies for admission will be effective on that day:

Unless noted otherwise, nights when a musical performance occurs are open to persons of all ages.

For those 18, 19, or 20 years old, a valid drivers license, state ID or passport must be shown for admission.

For those 17 and under, a valid Music Venue Parental Consent form must be on file at Slowdown. The form can be downloaded HERE or you can pick up a copy at Slowdown. Note the form has options for admission to any live performance until the person turns 18, or consent may be given for one show only. Either way, the form must be on file at Slowdown, signed by the parent/legal guardian, and notarized. Admission will only be granted if the form is on file and the person presents a valid ID.

Slowdown does not have a notary on staff. Many places in town will notarize documents for a small fee. You may also want to check with your bank as they often notarize documents for free.

For anyone under 21, admission cannot be granted until one hour before show time and they must leave following the performance.

A full copy of the city ordinance may be downloaded HERE.

Please email Slowdown. or call us with any questions you may have. Thanks in advance for your cooperation as we get this going.
