Well, that last post was over a week old, and I apologize for not getting around to a new one sooner. If you haven’t heard yet, the 2nd district of Nebraska (which is comprised mainly of Omaha) officially went to Barack Obama, the first time a state has split their electoral vote in modern history. Making history in a historic election!
To get back to Slowdown related news, we have a trio of great shows coming up, starting tonight!
Tonight we have Fancie with Alak Alas Alaska, & Dim Light, Saturday we have Matt Nathanson with Jesse Baylin & Break and Repair Method. This show is completely SOLD OUT! On Sunday Ingrid Michaelson is here with Newton Falkner, & David Ford, tickets are still available for this one!
We hope to see you soon.

The six days have quickly gone by and here we are…election 2008. We hope you have voted or are on the way to do so very soon.
I woke up fairly early this morning and went down to my local polling place, large coffee and a Tuesday paper in hand…a two hour wait did not seem to be an impossibility, so I came prepared. Imagine my surprise when I parked right in front of the little church and went in to find no one waiting in line to get their ballot. I signed my name, got my ballot and completed it before i even had the chance to think about drinking my coffee. So there you go…it was quick and easy. No excuses!
Also no excuses for not coming down tonight to see the results pour in on the big screen and listen to the fine music of Stephen Malkmus and Blitzen Trapper. Should be a great show and a fun time. See you soon.

We are six days away from November 4. The day of days. We hope you are all registered and are ready to get out and cast your vote. Or maybe you have already voted. If that is the case, props to you and we will call you early bird.
On that day of days, Slowdown is your one stop shop for election results, rock and good times. We will have the results on the big screen and Walt Roberts being some sort of MC for the evening. And the rock will be right up there with the best we have had yet…Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks joined by the wonderful Blitzen Trapper. The latter making their fourth (!!!) appearance at Slowdown, the last of which included Fleet Foxes and Tim Fite (April 11, 2008). What a gig.
Some great shows between now and then as well, including the first Omaha appearance for Wolf Parade. We cannot wait. See you soon.
