Notary Pre Show Party
Thunder Power!!! will be releasing their EP here on Friday August 15th. They have been kind enough to have a notary present from 5-7 pm on Friday August 15th. This way parents and kids can come down, check out the club, and get their permission slip signed and notarized. We will then file this at the club.
It has been awhile since we have done this, so for all the parents and kids 17 and under looking for a notary, look no further than 5 o’clock on Friday at Slowdown.

We are sorry to report that Tokyo Police Club with the Whigs has been canceled.
There is no re-scheduled date as of now.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
No CommentsShowz
I realize that I have misspelled showz. There are too many “z”’s in rock and roll if you ask me. Here I am perpetuating this peeve of mine. I did it to make a point, it looks ridiculous, please when you are forming your new band, leave the “s” where it is supposed to be, and lay off the “z”.
That being said, shows, shows, shows, the fall confirmations are rolling in, and we couldn’t be happier!
We just announced a few new shows! Deerhoof on October 13th, Broken Social Scene (a real show, I know!) on October 14th… and more.
Stayed tuned for more announcements soon, this fall is going to be spectacular!

it’s been about eleven days since slowdown gave you some news. things have been going on…
let’s see. it’s always easiest to start with the weather. hot, humid and just plain gross. add to that the bugs are back for their summer invasion. it’s a good time to be in nebraska, i tell you. a good time to be sitting inside the air-conditioned comfort with a cold beer in your hand at least.
we have had a great last few days worth of shows, with back when, mickey hart and ariel pink all rocking the house. mickey even lead to a full on drum circle forming in our parking lot at 1am….a first for us.
coming up this weekend we have the flight metaphor cd release show tonight, the omaha kingsmen drag show (yes, drag show…different but will be fun!) tomorrow and the rock of jeremy jay and sam martin on sunday. should be sweet.
see you soon!
No CommentsThe Weekend and our Neighbors
what a great weekend. beautiful weather and all sorts of happenings around our thriving metropolis.
last night Film Streams had their first annual fundraiser, Feature 2008. alexander payne and laura dern helped raise more than $150,000 for the non-profit so that we can continue to have access to films that had been missing from our city prior to the two-screen theater opening last year. cheers to that.
also, in case you didn’t know, blue line coffee has finally opened on the north end of our street. the same great coffee that you know and love from visiting their dundee location, while also offering a fine selection of sandwiches, cheeses, wines, and beers to boot. stop down and say hello.
tonight is film school with latitude-longitude. happy july 14th, 2008.
