We are so excited to host Our Fox, Conduits, and Jake Bellows tonight. Our Fox will be going on hiatus after this show, so you should definitely make your way down here. Conduits is the new project from familiar faces in the Omaha music scene. Conduits features members of Neva Dinova, Eagle*Seagull, Son, Ambulance, The Good Life, etc. Jake Bellows is arguably one of the most entertaining performers in town, it’s going to be a great night!
We will be closed tomorrow for a private event.

On Sunday we welcome Tokyo Police Club back for the fourth time with Freelance Whales and Arkells.

MAHA Afterparty Tonight

Slowdown: Now Even More Happy

Happy Hour will now be the usual 4-7pm AND after all shows! Call it a reverse happy hour of sorts. So now once the bands are done, all taps are 1/2 off, and everything else is $1 off. A deal, I tell you.

Speaking of deals, tonight’s afterparty for the Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry documentary at Film Streams is completely free. Brimstone Howl and The Prairies will rock the Main Room, and there will be some cheap Sailor Jerry drinks for you. 21 and over only, tattoos encouraged but not required. Come on down!

Speaking of free, be sure to RSVP for the free Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry event on Monday. There will be a screening of the documentary at Film Streams at 8pm and then an after party here with Brimstone Howl and The Prairies. There will be some cheap drinks, too. Guess what kind of drinks?

We will be closed for the holiday on Monday the 5th, and then open with the bang of The Hold Steady on the 6th!

FREE Is The Word

We just announced a couple of great (and free) things…

The MAHA festival is of course July 24 down at Lewis and Clark landing, featuring Spoon, The Faint, Superchunk, and the list goes on. A full day for sure, but be sure to make it even longer by stopping down here afterward to dance the night away with GOO. Your MAHA ticket stub will get you in for exactly $0, just so long as you’re 21. A sure to be fun way to end a sure to be fun day.

We are happy to say that parking lot show #2 is on August 27 and features Built To Spill, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and The Mynabirds! Terrific lineup and a FREE show thanks to Filter Magazine and Toyota. All you need to do for a ticket is go here, and you can get more info on the show here.

Down to rock and roll business, we are in the middle of 5 days of shows in the Front Room. The rock continues tonight with Aurasing, A Moment Lost, The Rising, and The End In Red. Looking like this will be a busy one! Saturday night we welcome Polar Bear Club, Moving Mountains, Lemuria, and Living With Lions. And we wrap up the week on with a special Sunday night show Simon Joyner And The Parachutes, Paleo, and Bear Country. A great weekend ahead. Hope to see you soon!

Happy Birthday To Us

Slowdown turns 3 years old today. Crazy, huh? It’s been a pretty great 3 years around here. Many thanks to everyone that has been coming out and supporting us. We certainly would not be here without you!

We start working towards our 4th birthday tonight with the fifth (wow) stop at the club from Blitzen Trapper. They pretty much rule, so i can’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday. Come join us! Bring your party hat!

Congrats to Betsy Wells, the fan favorite of last nights 60 days to MAHA show! A very fine set from them last night, and surely another coming soon as they will now be playing at the festival on July 24 on Lewis and Clark Landing. Many thanks to Dim Light, Noah’s Ark Was A Spaceship, and Flight Metaphor for playing as well, and to everyone that came out for the show! A great night of music indeed.

Kicking Off The Week With A FREE Show!

It’s Monday and a new week is underway. The secrets of Lost (some at least) are behind us, so time to get on with things. We are kicking off the week with a FREE show celebrating MAHA being 60 days away! Betsy Wells, Dim Light, Flight Metaphor, and Noah’s Ark Was A Spaceship will rock the Main Room, and those at the show tonight will decide who goes on to play the local stage at the festival. We’ll also be giving away some tickets to the festival between bands. Can’t beat a free show with a chance to see another free show! Early start time of 8pm…see you tonight!
