Tyrone Storm Spins Records

Posted: June 29th, 2008

Tonight will be an epic Tyrone event, why you ask?  Tyrone just purchased a plethora of amazing records from a local record store.  Apparently Bernie McGinn, a legend, sold his entire collection, and Tyrone purchased a good chunk of that collection.

So at 9pm, Tyrone will start spinning his hits.  Also, we have $1 Miller Lites.

It will be epic.

One Year Anniversary

Posted: June 8th, 2008

We turn 1, officially, today.

We are celebrating with $1 Miller Lite Draws all day long.

Tyrone Storm is also making an appearance, setting off tornado sirens across the city as he made his way back into town last night.

Drink a few beers, listen to some good music, and help Slowdown turn 1.

What A Week

Posted: May 28th, 2008

I think I am still recovering from last week. Finally getting the feeling back in my legs. Looking back, it was a crazy week but well worth it, each show was incredible in its own way.

We can’t say thank you enough to all the fine folks that attended shows at Slowdown, you are doing your part to make sure amazing musicians have fond memories of Omaha, and want to return to this town.

I leave you with a photo of the amazing Alexandra. She was hanging from our ceiling during the first song of Devotchka’s encore. I can’t believe she wasn’t strapped in, a long red fabric sheet is all that held her high in the air, oh and magic.
