The 16oz Bullet

Posted: February 26th, 2010

For those of you coming down this weekend, get ready to have your eyes slayed and thirst quenched by our new tall boys of Coors Light. You can never have enough tall boys, either as a bar or an individual. Well, maybe as an individual.

A great lineup tonight…get ready to the dancing out of your system with The Hood Internet, Flowers Forever, and Capgun Coup. The party continues tomorrow night with a heavier twist… Broken Crown, Furiosity, Wicked Me, and Cold Steel will rock the Front Room.

Also, a warning from your friendly ticket guy: The English Beat/Fishbone and Ani DiFranco shows are just about sold out. If you would like to check out either of those, it would be wise to pick up a ticket very soon! In other ticket news, new on sales include Mac Lethal, Little Dragon, The Black Lips, Dead Meadow, and Red Sparowes. And tickets are on sale Saturday for The Low Anthem and Unwed Sailor. On our way to booking up the Spring, should it decide to come at some point.

See you soon!

Haiti Benefit And The Week Ahead

Posted: January 26th, 2010

The good news is that we will be making a great donation to Doctors Without Borders and the Haiti relief effort, but the bad news is that we have no tickets left for Thursday’s show. Many, many thanks to those of you that purchased a ticket to what should be a very memorable night. If you were unable to get a ticket, please do find a way to support one of the many charities doing relief work.

As for the rest of the week, we have a Pub Quiz tonight and another installment of Pecha Kucha on Wednesday. Then a full weekend of shows with The Killigans CD Release on Friday, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk on Saturday, and the return of Rebelution on Sunday. See you soon!

The Goose Is Resting

Posted: January 8th, 2010

Late 2009 was a little rough for our goose that hails from Goose Island. He received a kerchief of sorts when we did some decorating for the holidays. A couple of weeks later he got a brand new pair of googly eyes. He had a whistling pair of lips in his mouth for New Years Eve. And then he decided to grow a beard of all things. See below for the evidence.

So getting down to business, we decided to give the goose a rest for a while. In his place we have the wonderful Guinness 250 stout. Only brewed for a limited time, once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. So get it while you can. The faster you drink it, the faster the goose can get back to his proper home.
