how come nobody makes a stout that tastes like guiness? we have been in ’stout-tasting’ mode and have tasted some wonderful stouts, but nothing in the vein of a guiness. i just think it’s weird. i don’t need another guiness (we already have one), but i just wonder why other people don’t copy it more. i am told it has something to do with the nitrous carbonation. evidently that is costly.

well, if you know of a good espresso stout (that is really what we are looking for) that we should carry, let us know. i want one. rumor has it there is a nebraska brewery that makes an amazing espresso stout. i just have to remember the name of the company…

good shows coming up. the show is the rainbow tonight.  vampire weekend tomorrow. pub quiz tuesday and then DINOSAUR JR wednesday. how cool is that?

i can’t believe dinosaur jr is playing here tomorrow night. i remember when i was completely obsessed with lou barlow. i ordered a fanzine that his wife kathy put out because it had some obscure song on a 7″ by sentridoh or some variation there of. when i got the fanzine in the mail it has lou’s infamous penmanship on the envelope. i couldn’t believe lou actually wrote on an envelope and mailed something to me. i have held on to that envelope for years. i am sure it is still in a box somewhere.

anyway, dinosaur jr was/is/will be amazing. it was one of those bands that both me and my sister liked at the same time. the replacements, pixies, husker du, dinosaur jr, etc.

i guess it’s nostalgic, but not entirely. the new record is sweet. and i saw them play on a recent tour in london and it was amazing. loud as shit, but amazing.

i can’t believe there are still tickets left for this show. it is one not to be missed.

holiday gift baskets are starting to clutter the office space and consequently my stomach. too much sugar/chocolate/frosting/coffee…

alright, it’s only noon and your sick of the family. have a bit more egg nog and then meet us down here after 7. yeah, we’re opening at 7 PM on xmas day. yeah, we have no lives. yeah, neither do you. later.

oh, and all you michelob ultra drinkers… you’re in luck. we have it in bottles now. i don’t know who they hell you people are that want that stuff, but we got it. speaking of beer, we have nebraska brewing company’s cardinal pale ale on tap now. it’s really good. not quite as hoppy as hopluia, but pretty hoppy for a pale ale. and really good.
